Test: ASTM D7427 (Standard Test Method for Immunological Measurement of Four Principal Allergenic Proteins (Hev b 1, 3, 5 and 6.02) in Natural Rubber and Its Products Derived from Latex) http://www.astm.org/Standards/D7427.htm


Description: The technology is based on a sandwich ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay) technique.

 

Applications of the test:

 - to determine the allergenic potential of your natural latex rubber product (gloves, condoms, balloons, catheters, soothers or any other latex product)

- to verify manufacturer claims about product properties (latex-free?)

- Allergy sufferers can measure exposure to latex allergens in a variety of consumer products

- R&D or Quality Control of natural latex rubber products in development or in different stages of the production line

- to verify synthetic products are latex-free or free of latex contamination
