Title Industrial Hygiene Laboratory Services Support the Efforts of Safe + Sound Week
Introduction EMSL Analytical offers industrial hygiene and environmental testing services, sampling supplies, personal protective equipment and monitoring instruments to safeguard workers.

Cinnaminson, NJ,  August 16th , 2018

For 2018, Safe + Sound Week takes place from August 13th through the 19th. Show Your Commitment to Safety is the theme for this year’s week of recognition which is described by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as a nationwide event to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs that include management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in workplaces.

These efforts are critically important because although the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that the rate of worker deaths and reported injuries in the United States has decreased by more than 60% in the past four decades, every year, more than 4,500 workers are still killed on the job (a rate of 12 per day) and 4.1 million suffer a serious job-related injury or illness.

OSHA also states that serious job-related injuries or illnesses don't just hurt workers and their families, but can hurt a business in a variety of ways. Implementing a safety and health program, however, can improve a business's safety and health performance, save money and improve competitiveness.

“Industrial hygiene testing services are a key component of many occupational safety and health programs,” said Joe Frasca, Senior Vice President, Marketing at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “This is due to the fact that this type of testing can often help to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses; improve compliance with laws and regulations; and reduce costs, including significant reductions in workers' compensation premiums. The end result is increased productivity and enhanced business operations that make for a happy, efficient and healthy workforce.”

With dozens of laboratories and service centers across the United States and Canada, EMSL Analytical is one of the leading providers of industrial hygiene testing services, sampling supplies, monitoring instruments and personal protective equipment (PPE). Their laboratories support the efforts of Safe + Sound Week and have even sponsored an educational video about it that can be seen at: https://youtu.be/IMzr-lKA2pw
