Introduction	EMSL Analytical, Inc. is pleased to announce that its Tampa, Florida laboratory is accredited by American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for environmental microbiology testing services including bulk, surface and air fungal samples.
Tampa, FL, August 21^st , 2018 EMSL Analytical, Inc. is pleased to announce that its Tampa, Florida laboratory is accredited by American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for environmental microbiology testing services including bulk, surface and air fungal samples. In addition, the laboratory seeks to add asbestos testing capabilities before the end of the year. With this accreditation, EMSL Tampa is accredited in accordance with the recognized International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005. The laboratory meets all program requirements in the environmental field and demonstrates technical competence for the defined scope and the operation of a laboratory quality management system. EMSL Tampa can examine fungal spores, fungal structures, hyphae, pollen, insect fragments along with fibrous material from surface and bulk samples. The laboratory can also analyze airborne fungal spores, hyphal fragments, pollen, insect fragments, skin fragments and fibrous particulate by optical microscopy of spore trap samples using the industry standard ASTM D7391 method. “Our newly added Tampa location is one of EMSL’s five testing laboratories in the state of Florida,” said Jason Dobranic, Ph.D., Vice President of Microbiology and Life Sciences at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “Mold is a common health concern throughout the state and requires testing to help identify and remediate potential issues. This accreditation adds to our goal of expanding testing, capacity and quick turnaround options for clients.
