NVLAP Accreditation for TEM Asbestos Analysis

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is proud to announce that its San Diego asbestos testing laboratory has recently been accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for airborne asbestos fiber analysis by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The laboratory is also accredited for bulk asbestos analysis.

 

The San Diego laboratory (NVLAP Lab Code: 200855-0) will now be able to identify asbestos fibers in both air and bulk samples including those that fall under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) standard. Through the NVLAP program, laboratories are accredited in accordance with International Standard ISO/IEC 17025. According to NVLAP, the accreditation demonstrates technical competence for a defined scope and the operation of a laboratory quality management system.

Along with asbestos testing, EMSL San Diego offers mold, indoor air quality (IAQ), combustion by-product testing (soot, char & ash from wildfires) and microbiology testing services. The laboratory is certified by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for fungal testing in bulk, surface and air samples. In addition, the San Diego laboratory is accredited by the State of Hawaii Department of Health and the California State Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program for bulk asbestos analysis of hazardous waste.
