EMLAP Legionella Accreditation

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is pleased to announce that its Ann Arbor, Michigan laboratory is accredited for Legionella analysis by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA-LAP, LLC) Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP). EMSL is the first testing laboratory in the state of Michigan to offer AIHA accredited Legionella testing services. To earn this accreditation, the laboratory successfully completed on-site evaluation in accordance with ISO 17025 compliance.

In addition, EMSL Ann Arbor has already earned its Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Environmental Legionella Isolation Techniques Evaluation Program (CDC ELITE) proficiency for Legionella analysis. Currently, EMSL is the leading Legionella testing laboratory with 21 CDC ELITE accredited locations throughout the United States and Canada.

The laboratory also offers asbestos, microbiology and indoor air quality testing services. EMSL Ann Arbor is accredited by AIHA EMLAP for not only Legionella analysis but for mold testing of air, bulk and surface samples by direct examination. The laboratory is an AIHA EMPAT participant for mold analysis.EMSL Ann Arbor is AIHA-LAP, LLC accredited for testing of environmental microbiology under EMLAP. In addition, EMSL Michigan is accredited by NVLAP for bulk and airborne asbestos analysis.
