EMSL's Greater Boston Area Laboratories

EMSL Analytical, Inc. has two testing laboratories located in the greater Boston area. Like all EMSL laboratories, our Weymouth and Woburn locations are independent testing laboratories that do not offer field sampling or consulting services in competition with its clients. EMSL currently has 46 testing laboratories throughout the United States and Canada.

EMSL Woburn offers a wide range of testing services related to asbestos, indoor air quality, lead and metals, microbiology and mold. The laboratory is accredited by AIHA-LAP, LLC Environmental Lead Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELLAP), Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP) and Industrial Hygiene Laboratory Accreditation Program (IHLAP). The location is also an AIHA-LAP, LLC participant by Environmental Microbiology Proficiency Analytical Testing (EMPAT) for fungi, Industrial Hygiene Proficiency Analytical Testing (IHPAT) for asbestos along with Environmental Lead Proficiency Analytical Testing (ELPAT) for paint chips, soil dust wipes and air.

The Woburn laboratory is accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for air and bulk asbestos analysis. The laboratory is on the Analysts Individual Certification List for the state of Vermont and Maine. EMSL Woburn is certified by the state of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Vermont for phase contrast microscopy (PCM), polarized light microscopy (PLM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). In addition, Woburn lab is approved by the state of Maine as a satellite laboratory.

EMSL Weymouth is also an AIHA-LAP, LLC IHPAT participant for asbestos. The location is NVLAP accredited for bulk asbestos testing. The laboratory is approved by the state of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island for PLM and PCM. EMSL Weymouth is also approved by Maine as a satellite laboratory.
