Introduction Join EMSL Analytical, Inc.’s four-day NIOSH 582 Equivalency Course on January 20th through the 23rd at its corporate headquarters located in the greater Philadelphia area.

Join EMSL Analytical, Inc.’s four-day NIOSH 582 Equivalency Course on January 20th through the 23rd at its corporate headquarters located in the greater Philadelphia area. This class will be instructed by EMSL’s leading asbestos expert, Michelle McGowan. Registration begins at 7:30 AM followed by the training which will run from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily.

The NIOSH 582 Equivalency Course will cover asbestos regulations, phase contrast microscopy (PCM) and the NIOSH 7400 Method. In addition, this training will also provide in-depth sampling information such as sample collection, receiving, handling, preparation, analysis and reporting. Attendees will take a written exam at the end of the course. To receive the NIOSH 582 certificate, attendees must complete the exam with a passing grade of 80% or better and attend all training sessions.

At the end of the course, a written exam measures the student’s level of technical understanding. Those who successfully complete the written exam (passing grade of 80% or better) and attend all training sessions will be eligible to receive a NIOSH 582 Equivalency certificate.
