Title EMSL Orlando Laboratory Receives Texas TDLR Certification for Mold Testing
Introduction EMSL's Orlando Laboratory has received certification from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for mold testing.

Orlando, FL, August 4th, 2021

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is pleased to announce that its Orlando laboratory has received certification from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) for mold testing. EMSL Orlando offers microbiology services and testing services for the identification of asbestos, Legionella, lead, and other heavy metals in environmental samples including air, water, soil, and dust.

“Exposure to mold can cause allergic responses that may include hay fever-like symptoms, and for some asthmatics, mold exposure can even trigger an asthma attack,” said Joe Frasca, Senior Vice President of Marketing at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “Therefore, it is important that our microbiology divisions are continuously working to achieve new qualifications to better serve the surrounding areas. Our Orlando laboratory is now equipped and ready to accept mold work from Texas to benefit its customers and potential clients.”

EMSL Orlando has obtained a variety of accreditations and certifications that allow for a wide range of testing services. Under the AIHA-LAP, LLC Industrial Hygiene Laboratory Accreditation Program (IHLAP) the laboratory can test for metals in air via inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), as well as test for the analysis of bacteria and fungi under the Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP). EMSL Orlando can also test for lead in paint, soil, settled dust by wipe, and airborne samples under the Environmental Lead Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELLAP). The laboratory is an Industrial Hygiene Proficiency Analytical Testing (IHPAT) participant for asbestos and metals testing and certified by the CDC ELITE for Legionella analysis.

In addition, EMSL Orlando is accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for bulk and airborne asbestos analysis. The laboratory has also received certification from the State of Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Public Health Laboratories and is in compliance with the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) for asbestos, metals, E. coli, total coliforms, and heterotrophic plate count (HPC) testing in drinking water and wastewater.
