Cinnaminson, NJ, August 10
th, 2021
This year, Safe + Sound Week takes place from August 9
th through the 15
th. The annual week of recognition is described by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as a nationwide event to raise awareness and understand the value of safety and health programs to systematically find and fix hazards in the workplace.
These efforts are critically important, as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that the rate of worker deaths and reported injuries in the United States has decreased by more than 60% in the past 4 decades, but each year more than 5,000 workers are still killed on the job and more than 3.6 million suffer a serious job-related injury or illness.
“Implementing effective safety and health programs are essential for the well-being of workers and can also improve a company's overall performance,” said Joe Frasca, Senior Vice President, Marketing at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “A central component of these programs is monitoring occupational exposure risks to chemical, microbial, radiological, thermal, and noise hazards. With laboratories and service centers across the United States and Canada, EMSL Analytical continues to support the efforts of Safe + Sound Week and is one of the leading providers of industrial hygiene testing services, sampling supplies, monitoring instruments, and personal protective equipment (PPE). These services and products are essential for successful safety and health programs, which can build stronger companies and institutions.”
