Title EMSL Syracuse’s Asbestos Testing Laboratory Receives NYSDOH ELAP Accreditation
Introduction EMSL Syracuse's Laboratory has received accreditation from the New York State Department of Health Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NYSDOH ELAP) for asbestos analysis.

Syracuse, NY, September 24th, 2021

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is pleased to announce that its Syracuse, New York testing laboratory has received accreditations for asbestos analysis in solid and hazardous waste, and air and emissions by the New York State Department of Health Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NYSDOH ELAP). EMSL Syracuse’s laboratory provides these asbestos testing services by utilizing polarized light microscopy (PLM) and the NIOSH 7400 method using phase contrast microscopy (PCM). In addition, the laboratory is recognized by National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for asbestos analysis in bulk.

Through the NYSDOH ELAP program, laboratories are accredited in accordance with Section 502 of the Public Health Law to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analyses. According to NYSDOH ELAP, the accreditation demonstrates technical competence to analyze environmental samples of specimens originating in New York State.
