San Diego, California, November 14, 2022
EMSL Analytical, Inc. is proud to announce our San Diego lab has expanded their TEM capabilities and now offers NIOSH 7402, ASTM D5755 (Microvacs), and ASTM D6480 (Wipes) analysis. Taking advantage of the TEM's ability to positively identify each fiber NIOSH 7402 determines the percentage of asbestos fibers versus non-asbestos fibers in the sample. This percentage is then applied to the original PCM result.
There are two commonly used ASTM methods available for sampling settled dust for asbestos analysis: ASTM D5755 (Micro-vacuum Method) and ASTM D6480 (Wipe Method). These methods are used to sample and analyze settled dust from a given area.
“We are pleased to expand our asbestos testing capabilities in San Diego and the surrounding area,” said Joseph Frasca, Senior Vice President of Marketing at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “Our expanding number of accreditations and company-wide focus on customer satisfaction makes no project too large or too small. We are equipped to handle routine work as well as highly specialized projects.”
In addition to asbestos testing, EMSL San Diego offers mold, indoor air quality (IAQ), combustion by-product testing (soot, char & ash from wildfires) and microbiology testing services.
