EMSL Canada, Inc. announces it is hosting a NIOSH 582 Equivalency Course on Monday, June 3^rd through Thursday, June 6^th in Calgary, Alberta. This four-day course will be held at the Best Western Premier Calgary Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.

This course covers all aspects of sampling and analysis using the NIOSH 7400 Method. Proper equipment selection, asbestos regulations, phase contract microscopy, calibration of equipment, sampling, sample preparation, sample analysis, calculation of results, quality assurance and quality control are all covered. Michelle McGowan, EMSL’s VP of EMSL’s Asbestos Division, will be the instructor for the course.

To receive a NIOSH 582 Equivalency Course Certificate, attendees must attend all of the training sessions, analyze PT samples within the acceptable limits, and successfully complete the written exam with a passing grade of at least an 80%.
