Title National Safety Month 2025 and Environmental, Health, and Safety Resources
Introduction EMSL Analytical provides industrial hygiene laboratory testing services, sampling supplies, test kits, monitoring instruments, personal protective equipment, and other tools to identify and mitigate exposure risks to a wide range of occupational hazards.

Cinnaminson, New Jersey, June 3, 2025

As recently as 2023, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported there were 5,283 fatal work injuries recorded in the United States. BLS also recorded more than 2.6 million nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses with private employers that year.

To focus attention on the importance of health and safety programs in the workplace to reduce these numbers, the National Safety Council established National Safety Month in 1996. The month-long observance takes place each June. National Safety Month is designed to be a time for organizations, companies, government agencies, and individuals to focus on workplace safety and health risks, and to make changes to reduce occupational injuries, illnesses, and deaths.

For 2025, weekly topics for National Safety Month include:

  • Week 1 – Continuous Improvement
  • Week 2 – Employee Engagement
  • Week 3 – Roadway Safety
  • Week 4 – Wellbeing

“Employers are responsible for taking steps to prevent accidents, injuries, and fatalities on the job,” said Joe Frasca, Senior Vice President of Marketing at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “This includes mitigating occupational exposure risks to infectious agents, potentially hazardous substances, loud noises, extreme temperatures, and other dangers. At EMSL Analytical, we support the efforts of National Safety Month each year. Our industrial hygiene and environmental, health, and safety laboratories located across North America offer testing services, sampling supplies, easy-to-use test kits, monitoring instruments, inspection tools, personal protective equipment, and so much more. These resources help to identify chemical, microbial, radiological, and physical hazards to reduce exposure risks and create a safer work environment.”

Several years ago, EMSL sponsored an educational video about National Safety Month that can still be seen at: https://youtu.be/ygdLjYfG8z0
