Cinnaminson, New Jersey, August 11, 2025
Safe + Sound Week takes place this year from August 11th through the 17th. The theme for 2025 is Preparedness is Your Superpower.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) describes Safe + Sound Week as a nationwide event to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs in the workplace. The agency also promotes the fact that safety and health programs help businesses:
- Prevent workplace injuries and illnesses
- Improve compliance with laws and regulations
- Reduce costs, including significant reductions in workers' compensation premiums
- Engage workers
- Enhance social responsibility goals
- Increase productivity and enhance overall business operations
OSHA reports:
Every workplace should have a safety and health program that includes management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards.
“This year marks the ninth annual Safe + Sound Week,” said Joe Frasca, Senior Vice President of Marketing at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “It’s an important annual reminder that effective safety and health programs that identify and mitigate exposure risks to chemical, microbial, radiological, thermal, and noise hazards can significantly decrease the number of occupational deaths, injuries, and illnesses that would otherwise occur. EMSL proudly supports the efforts of Safe + Sound Week and continues to offer industrial hygiene, environmental, and material testing services and sampling supplies. Our North American laboratories also provide a wide range of monitoring instruments, building inspection tools, and personal protective equipment to protect workers, and to help keep employers in regulatory compliance.”
