LT2 Monitoring
LT2 Monitoring
The Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule (LT2ESWTR or LT2 rule) addresses the health effects associated with Cryptosporidium in surface water used as a drinking water supply. All public water systems using surface water or groundwater under the direct influence of surface water are required to monitor under LT2.
EMSL Qualifications:
- EMSL is fully approved by the USEPA for LT2 Round 2 Cryptosporidium monitoring program using EPA method 1623/1623.1.
- EMSL is cerified in most states to analyze LT2 samples.
- EMSL is a leading laboratory with the largest sample capacity for LT2 testing.
- EMSL surpassed other laboratories participating in the most recent EPA’s performance testing (PT) studies with 72.5% to 68.0% for recoveries of Cryptosporidium (national average is 59.5%).
