Project Experience: Nicotine and Tobacco

A Canadian importer was interested in verifying the label claim of a shipment of imported flavored molasses. The molasses matrix is very complex and is difficult to assay using wet chemical methods. EMSL was able to extract the alkaloids from the molasses matrix and determine that the alkaloid content was low enough to meet the label claim of 0.1% by LC/MS/MS.
