Project Experience: MRSA Microbial Efficacy Test

A client needed independent, 3rd-party testing performed on their bipolar ionization/cold plasma system. They wanted to see the efficacy specifically against the dreaded Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). EMSL was able to conduct the testing in one of our large walk-in environmental testing chambers. We contaminated the chamber with a large population of MRSA. The client's system was run in the chamber and produced a significant log reduction in the population of MRSA inside. The client was able to use this data to market their product and also used it in a magazine article.
