EMSL Analytical, Inc. is able to perform a Heterotrophic Plate Count on drinking water, groundwater or surface water.
Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC) takes into consideration the enumeration of all aerobic bacteria capable of growing in some commonly used media such as, HPC agar or plate count agar. The level of bacteria determined by HPC indicates the overall microbiological status (i.e. distribution) of the system and not necessarily the possibility of risk to public health.
